Entering her sophomore season, Ashlyn Knight returns to the Golden Bears as one of the steady leaders of the program. The setter from Pickens, South Carolina, was instrumental in leading the tempo of Clinton’s offense during the historic 2025 season and was a key piece in helping the team capture the NCCAA Division I Championship title.

From the moment Ashlyn stepped into the program, she brought a championship mindset and a willingness to compete. Her ability to control the pace of the offense, communicate with her teammates, and make decisions under pressure helped create opportunities for the hitters around her. As the Golden Bears continue to grow and add new offensive pieces, Ashlyn’s ability to run the offense and build connections with her hitters will be a major part of the team’s success.

Beyond what she brings on the court, Ashlyn has continued to establish herself as a leader within the program. She is someone her teammates can rely on, and she consistently leads through her actions, attitude, and commitment to getting better.

Ashlyn chose Clinton because she wanted an environment where she could continue to grow both academically and athletically.

“I chose Clinton because it felt like a place where I could grow both as a student and as a volleyball player. I liked the family-like environment, the opportunity to compete, and the chance to be part of a team that supports each other on and off the court.”

Her journey to Clinton was not always a straight path, but it helped shape the mindset she brings into the program.

“My recruiting journey wasn’t always straightforward, but it taught me a lot about perseverance. I stayed committed to improving my game, kept an open mind about opportunities, and ultimately found a place where I could continue playing the sport I love while earning my degree.”

What stood out to Ashlyn about Clinton was the culture and the people surrounding the program.

“The family atmosphere and the coaching staff stood out to me. I wanted to be part of a program that values hard work, accountability, and supporting one another while competing at a high level.”

As she continues her sophomore season, Ashlyn is focused on growing in every area of her life.

“My personal goals are to become the best student-athlete I can be, earn my degree in Early Childhood Education, continue developing as a volleyball player and teammate, and make a positive impact on the people around me both on and off the court.”

Her leadership style reflects what makes a great setter — someone who communicates, builds confidence in others, and helps bring the team together.

“I lead by example through my work ethic, positivity, and willingness to encourage my teammates. As a setter, communication is one of my biggest strengths, and I enjoy helping bring people together. I’m dependable, coachable, and always looking for ways to be the best version of myself I can be.”

With another season of experience under her belt, Ashlyn Knight is ready to continue growing as a leader, elevating the offense, and helping the Golden Bears continue building on the championship standard they established.
